ST. LUCIE COUNTY – The Treasure Coast International Airport (KFPR) has issued a “Request for Qualifications” (RFQ) for the development of its airport located in St. Lucie County, one of the fastest growing counties in Florida.
The RFQ includes the development of the airport, which may include:
- The lease and operation of the new 28,500 square foot hangar and related facilities;
- Fixed-based operations;
- Development of airfield parcels.
The RFQ may appeal to multiple aviation businesses including maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), fixed-based operators, manufacturing, training/education and other aviation-related businesses. Given the various possible uses of the facilities and premises described in the RFQ, St. Lucie County may award a contract to more than one proposer.
About the Hangar
The state-of-the-art aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) hangar, recently completed, is one of the new facilities immediately available in the marketplace. The hangar has a peak height of 59.4 feet, a 44-foot-high by 170-foot-wide hangar door, a 190-foot by 150-foot apron, and is protected by a wet automatic fire sprinkler/high expansion foam system that has the capacity to serve future hangars on adjacent available parcels. The hangar can accommodate an Airbus A320 and Embraer 175 commercial airliner or two Gulfstream 650 corporate jets simultaneously. Additionally, the hangar can accommodate an Airbus A321 or Boeing 737-800.
About the Parcels
There are four shovel-ready parcels adjacent to the hangar, ranging from 2.26 to 4.07 acres. Additionally, there are 27 acres on the airport’s west side available for future expansion.
